Epic Movie Trivia: Presents Tim Burton Night

10479731_649836501804123_905746308242537790_nA couple of local diehard film fans get together every Monday at Epic Restaurant and Lounge on Elmwood Avenue to host and participate in film-related trivia contests. Andy Morin and Garrett Vorreuter run the show, which challenges trivia fiends to a different cinema theme each week. This week Andy and Garrett have chosen to pay tribute to the masterful, magical Tim Burton.

“This Monday at Epic Movie Trivia – we continue our Halloween theme for the month, recognizing the wonderful work of Tim Burton by devoting an entire night to him,” says Vorreuter. “There will be a Tim Burton themed costume contest – drink specials, prizes and bonus questions for shots and much, much more. The featured film will be Beetlejuice – so join us if you’re up for a spooky challenge.”

These types of themed trivia nights have taken off in Buffalo. It’s a great way to get people together, talking about commonalities. “Andy Morin was the mastermind behind this from the start,” claims Vorreuter. “Originally Andy thought that hosting movie trivia was a good way to bring the film community together to socialize on a regular basis – so he came to me to push it as a collaboration with the Pierce-Arrow Film Arts Center – but it’s grown into its own thing, with regulars coming every week to test their movie knowledge. Some of them are freakishly good – it’s been a blast – especially on theme nights.”
