Back in May I posted on a clever outdoor adventure business that had set up shop at the Queen City Pop Up on Main Street (see article). After spending a summer practicing what he preaches, Survival of the Gear owner Pat Barczys is taking his concept to an entirely different level, by offering a series of Adventure Workshops. The workshops are to be held on consecutive Wednesday evenings at Resurgence Brewing Company.
The informational series includes how to fix a flat, Geocaching 101, and hammock camping. These types of workshops are a lot of fun, super informative, handy down the road… and then there’s the added benefit of being hosted at a brewery.
Just last night I was talking to a friend who has spent the last couple of weeks camping in his own backyard. He told me that the experience was one that he would recommend to others, to try at least once. “It sure beat being holed up inside on those hot nights,” he told me.
For anyone looking to enhance their outdoor adventures experiences, whether it’s in their own backyard or at Zoar Valley, maybe it’s time to attend a workshop or two. The series ensures that adventure seekers are prepared the next time that they get a little banged up, or come across a fun flying disc golf course.
