On Saturday, September 19, Buffalo will be participating in the largest global family bike ride to date. Families around the world are preparing to get out on the streets en masse, to participate in the large scale group ride. Leading the way in Buffalo, is Kidical Mass Buffalo, the group that has been organizing rides throughout the summer.
“We are participating in “Kidical MASSIVE”, a simultaneous global family bike ride where dozens of cities all around the country and world are holding Kidical Mass rides on the same day,” said Jesse Smith, who is co-organizing the event along with Stacy Bisker. “We are starting in Prospect Park at Porter & Prospect, and then riding along Porter and Richmond to the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers’ Market.”
Per usual, safety (and fun) is the biggest priority. Wear helmets, check bike seats, talk to kids about the rules of the road, etc. This is going to be the best family ride of the summer – you don’t want to miss it!
