It wasn’t that long ago that we didn’t have access to the Buffalo lighthouse, which is located at the Outer Harbor near Times Beach. Freeing up land around the iconic Buffalo landmark, and a pathway to reach the destination, was a huge accomplishment for Buffalo. For decades, the only way to approach the lighthouse was by boat, and even then visitors could only view from afar.
Today it’s a different story. Anyone can simply hop on the Bike Ferry from Canalside to the Outer Harbor, and then take a scenic walk out to the landmark structure.
In order to add walking traffic to the lighthouse and to the waterfront, Van Taylor Production is putting together a concert at the historic waterfront site, thanks to funding from the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation (ECHDC).
The show will feature performances by Melissa Kate Productions (Sultry Cabaret Blues and Jazz) and E Life Seven (Ron Walker and Mike Pennick from the legendary R&B group The Exoutics). Omeri Monroe will make a Special Guest appearance.
This is a free, family-friendly concert, to be held at the grounds of the Buffalo Lighthouse on Labor Day, September 7 from 4-7pm.
