Each year, over 100 restaurants participate in an event that raises money to help those affected by HIV and AIDS right here in WNY. This year marks a significant milestone in the event, as organizers have announced that Dining Out for Life is on schedule to hit its $1 million mark, since the event was established thirteen years ago.
Per usual, this year’s herculean effort will be similar to years past. On Tuesday, October 6, participating restaurants will be donating 25-50% of their breakfast, lunch and/or dinner proceeds to Evergreen Health Services. That means that all you have to do is head out to one of the designated restaurants and enjoy a great meal.
“Dining Out For Life has become our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Christopher Reybrouck, Director of Development at Evergreen Health Services. “The generosity of Western New York restaurant owners, our event volunteers, and the community has been absolutely overwhelming. All you have to do is go out to eat at a participating restaurant. And, with options ranging from casual to fine dining, it’s a very accessible way to give at the level and location that you are most comfortable.”
Evergreen Health offers a multitude of services that include a medical practice, full-service pharmacy, nutrition support, housing and transportation assistance, and mental health services. The money raised in WNY stays in WNY. This year, First Niagara Bank will match any additional funds donated by diners, which will help Evergreen Health to achieve even greater goals in 2016.
