A ticket company has set its eyes upon the 500 Block of Main Street. VIPTIX took over the 1200 sq.’ space, which Buffalo United Martial Arts (BUMA) left behind, after the martial arts business relocating to the RiverWorks complex.
After browsing the company’s website, I learned the VIPTIX first got into the business way back in The Aud days, when Nick Giammusso, who at the time ran a venue box office, began to match clients together. Seeing that there was a “no refund” policy at The Aud in the 80’s, Nick took it upon himself to find buyers for ticket holders who couldn’t make it to a game or event. Pretty soon he was wheeling and dealing with those who were looking to move tickets, and those who were hoping to acquire them.
Today, Nick is the President and CEO of a full-service ticket company that assists those looking to buy/sell tickets to sports events, concerts, the theater and special events, in all cities, at all venues. The company joins a number of other retailers and restaurants that are all looking forward to the day that auto traffic is fully operational on Main Street.
“We are almost done with the exterior of the building,” said Alexander Szczesny, Director of Marketing and Social Media for VIPTIX. “We have a few more graphics going up, plus Nick is looking for a tenant for the other half of the building, with a few people interested at this moment.”
Adding to the density of the 500 Block, VIPTIX joins ZDesign (also see Facebook), a full service commercial and residential design center that recently opened at 501 Main Street.
