Sinclair & Yar Mo’s Muse Join Forces on Main Street

Two impressive fashion and style collaborators have come together in Downtown Buffalo to create an instant sensation along Main Street. BRO readers might be familiar with Keyarie “Yar Mo” Maclin who recently opened up a boutique in the ephemeral Queen City Pop Up. The pop up was only one stop along the line for Keyarie, who has now joined forces with her husband, Jason, at 700 Main Street.

At the front of the building, Jason runs his hip unisex salon/barber business (five barbers and stylists coming aboard). In the back, Keyarie has taken a loft area of the building to build out her Yar Mo’s Muse fashion boutique.

Together, the two are planning on running a spa and shopping destination on Main Street that caters to those looking for services that include nails, makeup, massage, skin care, and of course fine threads ranging from dapper bow ties for the fellas to party dresses for the ladies. Keyarie and Jason have branded the outfit “an appearance enhancing salon”.

While Keyarie bounced from the pop up shop just down the street, Jason’s salon and barber business has even deeper roots in the Buffalo community. In 2002 he opened Chopafellaz Unisex at 3251 Bailey Avenue. Then in 2008 he opened his second location at 1088 Kensington Avenue. Jason’s progressive outlook in the barbering business has allowed him to cut out his own path, which has now led him to the current Main Street location. Check out this cool Chopafellaz’ video that shows Jason and his shops in action:

In coming weeks/months, Keyarie and Jason are looking to add a juice bar to the list of amenities found at the 700 Main salon, spa and boutique. The idea is to give their clients (and passersby) the utmost in spa and pampering, all under one roof. For the industry, there will be cutting classes offered, as well as continuing education classes.

Whether it’s a session in the hydrotherapy tub, a visit to a massage therapist, or simply a mani-pedi, Sinclair Salon & Spa (named after daughter) aims to please no matter the want or need.
