Buffalo is becoming more and more veggie friendly all the time. Between the Farm to Table movement, the urban farming, farmers’ markets, healthy restaurants on the rise, and the wild success of VegFest in 2014, things are looking up for healthy Buffalonians. When I first heard about VegFest, I knew that there would be a lot of interest from the community, but I had no idea just how successful the event would be in its inaugural year.
“We are holding our second [VegFest] event this summer and last year was a tremendous success with over 5000 people attending,” said Albert Brown, founder of the WNY VegFest. “We celebrate, promote and encourage a plant based lifestyle by having fun and providing educational aspects within the fun!”
Now, as part of a pregame fundraising rally for VegFest, organizers are hosting an all-out beach party at the Woodlawn Beach Tiki Bar, beach and facility. The event will feature the summer’s biggest squirt gun war, volleyball and limbo, a sunset bikini dance by Free Soul Dance, a drum circle, and best sandcastle.
The precursor beach part event is called Epic VegFest Beach Party and Fun Raiser. All of the details can be found on Facebook.
