Having a business such as Paradise Wine on the West Side, not only makes it convenient for people who are looking to pick up wine and spirits in the neighborhood, it also makes shopping for such conveniences a real experience. In fact, I’ve added Paradise Wine to my list of places to stop, whenever I’m conducting a tour of Buffalo. Not only is the staff beyond accommodating, there appears to always be something of interest going on whenever I stop by. Whether it’s a spirits tasting with one of the local distillers, or a handpicked wine selection being discussed, one never knows exactly what they will find upon stopping into this refreshingly uncommon wine and spirits destination. For example…
Today, July 2 – If you’re thinking that you’d rather start with healthy routine before a wine tasting, then maybe you should consider attending a pilates class with instructor Beth Elkins, owner of the Pilates Loft in Allentown. Beth will be teaching pilates in the park across the street from Paradise Wine (directly behind Urban Roots Garden Cooperative). It just so happens that Beth’s husband (architect Brad Wales) and his UB students designed and built the park as part of a Small Built Works program. So bring your mat to the free 5:30pm class, and get ready to do some outdoor pilates routines. Then join the gals at Paradise Wine for a wine tasting following the class.
On Friday, July 3, Black Squirrel (distillery) will be offering customers a maple rum tasting and cocktail making session (with Matt Pelkey) from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Black Squirrel is local to Buffalo, and sources NYS ingredients to make its spirits.
These are only a couple of neat Paradise Wine event selections that take place on a regular basis. If you would like to keep up with all the goings on in the future, consider signing up for their Wine Club’s weekly offerings.
