If you’re wondering what to do with the kids this weekend, then Downtown Buffalo has the perfect thing – Chalkfest! Each year Chalkfest attracts hundreds and hundreds of visitors, who come to see the awesome works of art. Many of the festival-goers go beyond simply watching, and get busy chalking. From the novices to the pros, Chalkfest has something for everyone.
This year, Chalkfest is back on Main Street – the event is taking place in and around Fountain Plaza, specifically the 500 Block of Main Street. The two day event is being held on Saturday and Sunday, August 1 and 2 – noon-6pm both days, which means that you have plenty of time to attend. The only problem is, choosing which day!
Once again, the 500 Block Association of Main Street welcomes master chalk artist Michael Macaulay to Buffalo, who will set the pace with his magical creations. The charity for the event is the Explore & More Children’s Museum. There will also be plenty of food, live music, dancers, face painters, balloon hats and street performers. Come on down and see what this year’s central storybook theme is…
Chalkfest is one of the more unique events to take place in Buffalo, and should not be missed!
