167 Prospect Is Yours for just $270K, WOW! [update]

This stunning Victorian at 167 Prospect in the West Village has it all.  It looks like it is in great condition, is loaded with original woodwork and details, is steps from downtown on a beautiful street and bonus – has a big yard. Extra bonus – it is listed at just $270,000.  At that price this beauty should not be on the market long.

UPDATE: or maybe not.  I was thinking this listing looked familiar and intended to do a BRO search to see if I had already done a story on this house. Commenter Matt Marcinkiewicz beat me to it, posting the old story link from February 12 below.  Back then the house was listed for $295,000.  So now it is even more of a steal.  However, commenter NorthBuf also reminds us that the house is near an icky neighborhood.  So, I guess buyer beware.]

Here is what the listing says:

Historic brick Victorian offers old world charm just a short walk from downtown Buffalo and Allentown. Guests are greeted by fabulous woodwork and leaded glass in the front foyer along with a magnificent staircase and stained glass window. Four bedrooms, 2 full baths and lots of room to entertain. Enjoy the convenience of 1st floor laundry, large kitchen, sunroom and attached garage. Lovely front porch and a 2nd floor rear balcony that overlooks one of the largest yards in the neighborhood. Lots to appreciate in this home!

The attractive brick  house, built in 1880,  is rather unassuming on the exterior, giving little clue to the spectacular stair hall awaiting just inside the door. Its carved wood and incredible stained glass mint condition window wall, alone make this house worth the asking price. The Victorian detail and charm continues generously throughout the house. But wait there is more.  It also has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, sun room, big front porch and rear balcony along with all the typical rooms spread over 2700 square feet.  The attached garage and big (6000 sf) yard make this house a rarity in the city.  Run don’t walk to your realtor. In five to ten years you won’t touch a house like this for under $600K in this neighborhood.
