This weekend marks the first ever University United Festival (UUF), and while the weather could have cooperated better, we still have Sunday to look forward to. UUF is a two day festival being held in the University District. The event is designed to promote pride and unity in Buffalo. Over the course of the weekend (how much rain can there be?) the festival will feature National Recording Gospel Artist Vanessa Bell-Armstrong, R&B Artist Amina Buddafly, Rapper Twista, Rapper Rich B, and Gospel Singer Corey Jarell.
It was the residents of the University District that decided to create a festival revolving around pride and unity. Organizers felt that they wanted to shine a positive light on many of the social issues that come into play in Buffalo, and throughout the world. Obviously, the themes of pride and unity are on the forefront of everyone’s mind these days…
Now let’s cross our fingers for better weather on Sunday… the festival is rain or shine!
