Earlier today I ran into interpretive designer Scott Wood, who was attempting to batten down a number of vinyl prints along an NFTA building on East Ferry. The artistic effort is part of The Ferry Street Corridor Project that is being developed to shine a light on the people the have contributed to the city’s growth along the length of Ferry. The organization sees East and West Ferry as a cultural bridge between a divided city.
Along with the vinyl graphics, a number of colorful metal cutouts have been adhered to the fence at the corner of East Ferry and Main Street. For years this corner has been an eyesore, and even the smallest addition of artistic love can help to create an identity for an otherwise desolate-looking spot. The metal creations were fashioned by students from Buffalo Performing Arts and Lafayette High School.
