If we’re going to face the end of the world, then we might as well have some fun while doing it. When there is no more electricity, and no more fuel, meaning that there are no more computers or TVs, we are going to have to rely on the simplicity of playing cards.
As a way to pass the time, Buffalo graphic artist and Buff State grad, Bunk Baird, has revamped the look of the traditional playing card by creating an ominous version that turns the deck into a tale – spelling out the four stages of the biblical Apocalypse.
In Bunk’s deck (which happens to be full), he replaces the traditional suits with that of pestilence, war, famine, and death. The result is a spellbinding to say the least.
In order to produce these cards, Bunk has set up a Kickstarter crowd funding campaign. If you can see yourself decked out with a set of the cards, or you’re simply a fan of creative and entrepreneurial Buffalo artists, then do yourself a favor and contribute a few bucks by clicking here. Once funded, the designs will be printed by MPC Playing Cards on 300gsm premium stock. The Kickstarter campaign ends on July 3, 2015.
“So what are you waiting for? The Apocalypse?”
