Throughout the summer, flash mobs of readers descend upon various public spaces in Buffalo to read their favorite books in inspirational settings. The bookworm collective is a way for people to show their love of books, by publicly demonstrating their passion in public. From Larkinville to the Outer Harbor, hundreds upon hundreds of readers/followers have participated in this roaming event series.
According to organizer Geoff Schutte, the plan is to kick-off the reading event at Bidwell Parkway as usual. After that there will be monthly mix-ups, which will take readers to various places throughout the city. Seeing a Reading Invasion in action is pretty neat. It’s a quiet testimonial to the love of reading that bonds the group together.
