“Family Promise is valuable to me as a mother, because I know that my children and I are in a safe place, and that we’re not just a number. Though I’m going to find somewhere to live soon, I feel good knowing that I can always reach out to the volunteers or staff. People truly care about me and my kids. That means a lot.” – Single mom (expecting) with two children, ages 1 and 4.
This Mother’s Day, please stop to remember that there are needy families in Buffalo that could use some support. That’s why the organization Family Promise has launched a funding campaign to help some of these moms to get back up on their feet. Out of 2000 homeless families in Buffalo, 70% are headed up by mothers. That means that it is imperative to work together as a community, to support the moms who are trying to support their kids.
“For a small donation, anyone interested can pay tribute to a woman who has touched their life—and touch a homeless mom who needs their help in the process. Family Promise will send a special card to individuals’ specific designee, noting the donation in his/her honor, and provide a gift bag in his/her name to one of our homeless moms. Donations may also be made in memory of someone special.” – Family Promise
All of the funds raised during the campaign will help to provide homeless mothers with a truly special “Mother’s Day Experience”. If you have the ways and means to support a homeless mother this Mother’s Day, you can find all of the information that you need by clicking here (Moms for Moms).
