It’s hard to believe that Locust Street Art has been in the business of providing free and low-cost arts services to an underserved community since 1959. In an age when public school art funding is usually one of the first to get axed, it’s crucial that there are alternative community art programs available to those with an artistic bent.
For 55 years, Locust Street Art has been providing art classes in the Fruit Belt. Now it’s time to celebrate the ongoing achievements.
On Sunday, June 7, 2015, Locust Street will be hosting a 55th Annual Art Show, featuring a collector’s gallery, kids activities, a cookout and a photo booth.
While the event is free, donations and art purchases are greatly appreciated, with proceeds going towards the Locust Street Art Classes Forever Foundation.
