Coming Soon: BNMC Rooftop Community Garden

Rooftop gardening and green roofs are becoming more popular in Buffalo (think Tri-Main Center and Broadway Market). Now the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC) is getting in on the action. Thanks to a helping hand from Grassroots Gardens, the Thomas R. Beecher, Jr. Innovation Center (640 Ellicott Street) will now be home to a rooftop garden that will be maintained by employees and community members.

Once the garden is established, the BNMC will be organizing weekly activities during lunch hours and after work. These types of corporation-based rooftops gardens are great for stimulating employee morale. They are also important community building initiatives.

Work in the Thomas R. Beecher, Jr. Innovation Center garden will begin later this month, and will be up and operational for the 2015 growing season.
