On Friday, May 1, 2015, the Irish Classical Theatre Company (ICTC) will be hosting a Celtic fundraising event at the Connecticut Street armory. The event is certainly befitting of the venue, with lavish merrymaking in the form of live music, food and beer. Come join other revelers as they raise a pint to honor the “late and lamented fictitious Irishman”, Finn L. Curtin.
It’s not often that we are invited to a wake that seconds as a party for someone that we never met, and who never actually existed. But that is what makes the idea of this mournful occasion so much fun. There’s no actual grieving, unless it feels appropriate to cry into your beer for good measure.
Known as “The Party To Die For”, The Wake is exactly what it sounds like. Finn L. Curtin’s family and friends will be in attendance, grieving and conducting themselves in ways that are appropriate for just such an occasion.
