Toolraiser for ReTree the District

The University Heights Tool Library has hooked up with ReTree WNY to organize a tool donation event that will help to replenish the Tool Library’s inventory. The tools that are donated are then available to Block Clubs and community activist groups that set out to beautify our neighborhoods.

Without the tools, there’s a lot of work that is left by the wayside. By donating unwanted tools that might be taking up space in garages and basements, donors can feel good about their involvement in helping various grassroots cleanup efforts and plantings. Plus, all of the donations are tax deductible.

On Saturday, April 18, volunteer groups will be planting over 450 trees in neighborhoods throughout the city. Without the appropriate tools, this concerted effort will be extremely tough. Moving forward, the tools will also help people plant community gardens, and tend to both residential and commercial areas of the city.

See this Facebook page for info on the Toolraiser and the ReTree the District event
