The Immaculate Conception Church rectory at Edward and S. Elmwood Avenue is on its way to becoming a multi-unit apartment building. Wayne Bacon and Mike Young’s 144 Edward LLC purchased the charming 6,800 sq.ft. building last April from Plaza One Group for $295,000. A half dozen apartments and office space are planned for the circa-1895 building. Renovation costs are pegged at $700,000.
Bacon provided the details in a Buffalo Rising comment in 2014:
There are approximately six parking spaces available on site. We are thrilled to have made this acquisition, and intend to preserve and restore the historical integrity of this beautiful building. The Rectory has generous common spaces, including a grand staircase that rises up three floors from its substantial foyer.
Bacon and Young converted the former Plymouth United Church of Christ at Lincoln Parkway and Amherst Street into ten apartments.
