Buffalo Porchfest is gearing up to take place on Saturday, May 9th, 2105 from 1-6pm.
At this point, the Porchfest committee is looking for band members and porch owners who are willing to participate in what has become one of the city’s most anticipated roaming outdoor events.
Buffalo is the perfect city for Porchfest, in that there are hundreds and hundreds of sizable porches throughout the Elmwood Village. The Buffalo music scene is also alive and kicking. Pair the two together and we have a day-long event that culls incredible local music talents to play in front of a touring audience of all ages.
Similar to Slow Roll Buffalo (for cyclists), Porchfest was dreamed up for freewheeling musicians to play out in the community. It’s also a way for homeowners to be neighborly, by inviting people to come relax on their front lawns while enjoying some live tunes.
If you have a porch in the Elmwood District, or you are a musician looking for a neighborly place to play, please consider being be a part of Porchfest. The event organizers will help to match up musicians with the perfect porch setting. Then it’s up to the community to simply walk around and enjoy the sights and sounds of Buffalo.
