One of Western New York Book Arts Center’s most celebrated events is coming up shortly, and baker/book-lovers are invited to participate.
The event is The Seventh Annual International Edible Book Festival, and the community is invited to create an edible version of one of their favorite books. The edible book festival is held throughout the world so that people can “celebrate the ingestion of culture and its fulfilling nourishment.”
In the past, bakers have presented their creations to judges (and guests) to sample, in hopes that they come away with awards for Best Book, Best Tasting, and Most Creative. There is even a category for the kids!
*Registration is now open. Those who wish to enter an edible book can do so by visiting WNYBAC’s website: http://wnybookarts.org/events/ or by stopping into the WNY Book Arts Center during the hours of 12-6pm, Wednesday-Saturday at 468 Washington Street in downtown Buffalo. Books must be 100% edible. Registration will be accepted until Saturday, April 11th, 2015 at noon. Everyone is allowed to partake in eating the exhibits after judging.
