There’s another regional brewery heading this way, with the help of some crowd funding of course. Rusty Nickel Brewery (RNB) is building its dream brewery and beer garden located at 5350 Seneca Street (via Ridge Road from Lackawanna). The brewery was recently spotted on the local Taptrails Map (see here), which suggested that the brewery would see a late 2014 opening (now slated to open in March).
To me, the more craft brewers in the area the better, because more and more beer drinkers are learning the tasty benefits of sampling the freshest brews possible. In a city that was once considered a major brew town, it’s great to walk into community taverns and pubs and have a diverse selection of local taps to choose from.

RNB owner/operators Jason Havens, Dave Johnson and Scott Fiege state that they will be brewing “a cornucopia of great tasting, balanced and full bodied beers including , IPA’s, Stouts, Porters, and RNBC unique flavors like Chai Tea Milk Stout, Honey-Nut Beer-E-O’s, Oatmeal Cookie Ale, Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout, Orange Creamsicle, and a Belgian Dubbel.”
At this point, RNB has raised a significant chunk of its $10k goal, and is still looking for support from regional beer lovers who want to see these guys succeed in the market (there are some nice rewards to boot!). Click here to support the brewery.
