Buffalo Rising

Design Block 150 Session

The second Design Block meeting is coming up on Wednesday. This time the event, that revolves around the belief that Buffalo should be built upon great architecture and design (the way it once was), will be held at 150 Chandler Street.

Design Block is a new group formed as a companion to preservation ready sites to leverage social media and grassroots tactics to raise the dialogue around, and decisions affecting, new design in Buffalo.”

The first meeting of the group was held at Manuel Barreto Furniture Studios, which commanded a packed house and lively discussions. The get-together also showed that there are many who are passionate about creating inspirational built environment in Buffalo once again.

Each of the Design Block sessions is based around a roundtable, speakers presentations and a social gathering.

150 Chandler Street is the new home of Solid716 (see here). Not only will you get a chance to meet others in the design community, and those who want better design in Buffalo, you will also get a chance to see a pretty cool and unusual design operation firsthand. The partners at Solid716 Home Decor pride themselves on the creation process as much as the end product – the same philosophy shared by the group at Manuel Barreto.

*The event is free.
