The creativity in Buffalo is still just getting started. It’s getting hard to keep up with all of the entrepreneurs who are unleashing their creative ideas throughout the city. Ideas abound and the energy is being transmitted further and further on a daily basis.
It wasn’t long ago that Water Bikes of Buffalo rolled out all of their aqua contraptions at the Inner Harbor. It didn’t take long for the self-propelled vehicles to catch on. This summer they were everywhere.
Now Water Bikes of Buffalo is throwing a different hat into the ring. Starting at the grand opening event on December 18th, Water Bikes of Buffalo will be introducing a fleet of its first ice bikes – twelve total. The ice bikes will be available to rent on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through March. Adding to the anticipation of the fleets arrival, it is said that The Ice @ Canalside will be the only venue in the US to offer this sort of offbeat rental.
The Ice Bikes are made locally by General Welding and Fabricating out of East Aurora.
Apparently the ice bikes are super stable and a ton of fun. They are obviously a bit odd looking, which should add to their popularity. If you’re not into skating, the ice bike could be the perfect way to get around the ice this winter.
*Rentals are $10 per half hour and all information is available at www.icebikesofbuffalo.com. Ice Bikes will also be available for purchase by contacting info@waterbikesofbuffalo.com.
