The Buffalo Music Hall of Fame (BMH) has announced that it will be hosting a songwriter contest for high school and college students. By collaborating with the Yellen Foundation, BMH hopes to attract submissions from songwriters (not bands) who would like to bolster their careers in the industry.
“We are very proud to offer this unique opportunity to a student in our community,” said Anthony Casuccio, president of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. “We held this contest last year and one very talented and aspiring musician walked away with a finished, professional master of their song.”
The winner of the contest will be granted a full day of studio recording time at Robby Takac’s GCR Recording Studio on Franklin Street. BMH will also provide a few of its past inductees to play as session musicians for the final recording, while giving instructional advice along the way.
So grab your guitar and belt out a song (originality is key). Then send the MP3, a link to the song, or via a video link to the judges.
More info can be found on www.buffalomusic.org.
The contest ends on December 14th, 2014, with the winner being announced on December 31, 2014.
Full contest rules can be found here. Open to ages 21 and under.
