The jam band Phish is bigger than ever. It’s incredible how many phish-heads there are out there. I know quite a few diehards myself. With the absence of the Grateful Dead, Phish has continued to toe the line when it comes to offering a certain music lifestyle that draws fans into countless hours of traveling, listening and talking about their favorite band.
For the fourth year in a row, Seamus Gallivan of The Good Neighborhood is organizing and promoting a Phish Tribute that will have all of the local phish-heads doing what they do best – getting down and flopping around. “Riverkeeper and I have come up with some creative ways to engage the expected younger crowd at the event,” Seamus told me. “Rather than aim to [merely] earn a few bucks for the cause, our goal is to get attendees to follow on social media and a mailing list. It should be a fun experiment… and it’s sure to be a fun show – this one’s always wild and unpredictable!”
