Undoubtedly, City Hall is one of the most iconic Buffalo buildings, inside and out. Visitors to Buffalo clamor at the chance to climb to the top of the landmark to view the city, the lake and Canada from high above.
On Saturday, November 29, 2014, Buffalo by Choice and the Buffalo Common Council, invite you to come down to City Hall to partake in a celebration of City Hall itself, as well as all of the incredible undertakings that are helping to move Buffalo forward. From 4pm to 6pm guests are invited to “Take Another Look” at the city. On that day, people are welcome to attend a sunset reception where they will be able to experience the 25th and 28th-floor City Hall observation decks in a way that extolls the virtues of Buffalo’s ongoing “Citybration” effort.
At the event, guests can partake in docent-led tours by Explore Buffalo (compliments of Preservation Buffalo Niagara). There will be plenty of visuals to encounter along the way, including exhibits of Aspire Technology Today’s award-winning Buffalo photographs, combined with art by PS 84 students. And to top it off, the City Hall lobby will host a BuffaLove Fair, showcasing Buffalo themed gifts. Even the Council Chambers will play a role in the event – that is where videos will be screened depicting the resurgence of the city.
It’s rare that events of this nature are held inside City Hall. Fortunately the folks at Buffalo by Choice have recognized the need to create an event of this nature, that utilizes one of this city’s greatest assets in a way that helps to promote the benefits of living in, and visiting Buffalo.
Proceeds from “Take Another Look” will benefit the Food Bank of WNY. Light refreshments will be served. There will be music as well.
*Guests who bring donations of non-perishable foods for the Food Bank and/or gifts for disadvantaged children for The Buffalo News Neediest Fund will receive a $5 discount on tickets purchased at the door. Tickets are just $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at www.citybration.com.
