14th Annual Holiday Open Studios and Galleries

One of the all time greatest shopping events in Buffalo is scheduled to take place on Friday, December 5 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm; and Saturday & Sunday, December 6 and 7, from 11:00am to 6:00pm. It’s the 14th Annual Holiday Open Studios and Galleries, a holiday showcase extravaganza designed to get shoppers outfitted with the most unique gifts around. The event is designed to open the doors of artists’ studios and galleries, so that shoppers can get the cream of the crop when it comes to one-of-a-kind purchases.

“Western New York’s original ‘holiday walk’, Holiday Open has become an annual tradition for those wishing to explore both the City and the creative talent that flourishes in our community”, says Catherine Gillespie, Director of Artists in Buffalo, Inc., the sponsor of the event. “For those who prefer to ‘shop local’ during this time of year, Holiday Open provides an appealing, non-mall alternative.”

Shoppers can check out a detailed map of the different gallery and studio stops along the route (see here). This year there are 23 venues on the list, featuring over 100 artists and artisans. This is your chance to check out a host of galleries, private residences, and unique community buildings, and maybe you’ll even win an “Artful Raffle” along the way!
