The Waiting Room Expands with “The Studio”

There’s more good news for live music in Buffalo. After a relatively short, yet extremely successful run at 334 Delaware Avenue, The Waiting Room is expanding its offerings. Owners of the live music venue will be renovating the second floor of the building in order to increase capacity for an additional 250 person live music venue and bar.

With the advent of the more intimate “The Studio”, the building is slated to become the only professional multi-room concert venue and bar in Buffalo. The new second floor venue will allow promoters to double the number of concert dates, while also allowing for coinciding concerts to run in tandem.

“When Waiting Room first opened, the idea was to create an intimate live music venue that artists would look forward to performing in as well a space where people would feel comfortable coming to time and time again to see up and coming bands,” says owner Chris Ring, who purchased the club in May of 2014. “I think we accomplished that and as a result more and more bands have wanted to play the room but we just haven’t had the available dates to accommodate them.  My team discussed our options and we realized we had the perfect opportunity directly above us, thus came the idea of building out The Studio room and making the building a universal hub for live music.”

studio_proofRing explains, “When we discussed the build out for the Studio it was important for us to make sure we were creating a room where bands and fans alike would feel comfortable coming to whether it was for a show or just to grab a drink. We worked with a handful of great people who helped design the space to give it a look that people who enjoy going to shows would appreciate.  From our top of the line production to our custom bar and box office made out of road cases, we think the club has that unique feel and look that people are really going to enjoy.”

The Studio will function as a bar (10pm – 2am Wednesday – Saturday) and as a music venue, showcasing the following scheduling:

Wednesdays: The Studio will host live-band karaoke where you can get on stage and sing your favorite pop punk, emo and punk songs with the house backing band.

Thursdays: Will feature different local original bands and DJs.
Fridays: 107.7 Alternative Buffalo hosts “New Noise”, Buffalo’s only weekly indie/electro dance party with music provided by s(IN)isters.
Saturdays: Bring it way back, playing all your favorite Motown, Doo-Wop and 60’s Rock N Roll songs all night long.
This Wednesday, October 22 2014, The Studio will be hosting a Grand Opening party from 6pm – 10pm.
