It’s easy to get excited about all of the work that is going on along Main Street these days. In the Theater District, the Cars Sharing Main Street project is virtually complete. A bit further down Main Street, the 500-block is undergoing big construction, including Roosevelt Square (lead image).
Despite all of the prohibiting construction on the 500-block, there are positive signs unfolding all around. Once the 500-block comes out of its chrysalis, we’re going to be looking at a very different street. That’s because new businesses are already opening and contributing to the rebirth of the street. I’m talking about United Martial Arts, Perks Café and D’Avolio’s Kitchen, among others. That’s a lot of activity where relatively not much existed before. Plus, Oshun recently opened in close proximity, and a number of other non-retail developments are underway.
