Pets Get Some Extra Love

The dog days of summer are officially over, and it’ll soon be the day above all days our pets wait for each year. That’s because they will be getting some extra lovin’ this October 4th for the annual Blessing of the Pets. Here in Buffalo, will be hosting its inaugural Pet Blessing at Parkside Lutheran Church. This animal loving event welcomes all pets, from cats and dogs to turtles and hedgehogs; all are welcome. The festivities will begin with a welcoming ceremony then the blessing given by Pastor Nate Preisinger.

Bring lawn chairs and blankets and pack a picnic basket because there will be a community picnic held after the event. In the event of rain, the event will take place inside of the church.

“The annual Blessing of the Pets is a wonderful event that happens each year around the globe, and and I wanted North Buffalo to be a part of it” said Pastor Nate.  “This is a beautiful community filled with loving families, and we wanted to bring neighbors together to celebrate the affection we have for our pets.”

The North Buffalo Organization Inc. (NBO) envisions a vibrant and safe neighborhood; a thriving business environment; a healthy community; a neighborhood rich in cultural experiences; and an engaged and well-informed constituency. NBO shares this vision with several other North Buffalo groups and works to collaborate with all stakeholders.

NBO’s own role in achieving this vision to date includes: establishing the North Buffalo Farmers Market; conducting clean-up events; promoting local businesses and organizations; keeping the community informed; and hosting public meetings for networking and sharing of resources. Plans are also underway for new initiatives related to public art, economic development, and infrastructure.
