Buffalo Bills fans around the world rejoice! Reports are springing up that Buffalo Sabres Owner Terry Pegula has been approved as the candidate chosen to purchase the Buffalo Bills.
The sale will give Pegula the controlling ownership of both major Buffalo sports franchises and ensure they are not only here, but viable and financially sound for years to come.
The news comes on the heels of a season opening Bills win in Chicago and just prior to the opening of the Sabres participation in the annual prospects tournament and 2014-2015 training camp.
A resounding sentiment on social media is: Thank You Terry! However, this city and the people who have clung and believed in these franchises for so long owe him much more than that. We owe him our sanity, we owe him our passion, hell, I’ll give him my first born if he needs another kid.
Terry Pegula is not only the savior of professional sports in Buffalo, he is the key cog to a rejuvenation, a revolution, a rebirth of a city that we have waited so long and worked so hard to achieve.
We aren’t all the way there yet, the sale still needs to be approved by the NFL owners, but the tentative agreement is in place and by all accounts will be approved by October 8, at the next NFL owners meetings in Manhattan.
Much like the approval, we are not all the way there yet Buffalo, but we too as a city are coming up and when we arrive, so much of what we will accomplish will have been accelerated by the presence of Terry Pegula.
