If there’s one thing that Buffalo certainly doesn’t waffle about, it’s our food. Whether dining at Ted’s (please come back to the city), or at Hutch’s, we love our food and happily frequent our favorite haunts as well as the new concepts that spring up around us.
Speaking of new food choices, there are always a bevy of food trucks hitting the road. One in particular that caught my eye, is just entering into a Kickstarter crowdsourcing campaign. The truck is called Das Wafel, and once it’s in full operation (you can help), owner/operator/chef Chris Walters plans on serving up deconstructed sandwiches and savory waffles (wafels) – “sweet dessert wafels, savory wafels based on reimagined classic sandwiches and dishes, veggie wafels and classic brunch fare daily.”
The truck will also be oriented towards bacon lovers. Here, let Chris explain:
Once Chris is fully funded, and his waffle truck is on the road, those who supported him will benefit from a number of rewards ranging from a two pound slab of bacon (done up right) to a barbecue for 30 of your guests (at your house or by truck). You can see all of the rewards listed at Kickstarter.
At this point, Chris has got the truck and is raring to go. If you’re a breakfast/bacon/waffle lover, and you’ve been looking for a truck of this nature to come to a neighborhood near you, then this is your chance to be proactive and get the job done.
