Before The Color Run even came to Buffalo, there were color hungry runners clamoring for the event to arrive. Now that Buffalo has joined the ranks of cities that host this colorful race, you can expect (tomorrow) to see hundreds upon hundreds of Buffalonians donning paint-blasted clothing walking the streets of the city once the 5K is over.
The Color Run has now claimed the title as the “single largest event series in the United States”. By clicking on the website, you can see the complete roster from Amarillo, TX to Ypsilanti, MI. As of 2013, the exceptionally fast growing race leaped to 170 events in over 30 countries, making it once of the widest known 5Ks and also the singular most popular.
On Saturday August 16, 2014, “Race Waves” start out from Canalside between 8am and 8:45am. This year’s race is part of the 2014 Kaleidoscope Tour. “Color Throws” are launched at the end of every kilometer run, and then there is a massive party at the end where “Color Runners” are doused yet again with color. The runners arrive to the event wearing all white clothing, and by the end of the un-timed 5K they are color coated from head to toe.
