Caribana festivals are held all over the country, and the world for that matter. One of the biggest Caribana festivals takes place in Toronto, though for years Buffalo’s own event has been growing significantly.
The multi-day event celebrates the colorful, festive nature of the Caribbean. Festival participants dress up in lavish costumes and parade through the streets of the city. In Buffalo, the event culminates with a large part at LaSalle Park (post parade).
Sponsored by the Buffalo Caribbean American Organization, everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate island culture. This year’s parade starts at the corner of Richmond and Bidwell Parkway at 12pm on Saturday. Parade participants are encouraged to call 716-381-5713. Masquerade encouraged.
