“Wardstock” 2014

If you’re going to have a celebrated area in the city called the old First Ward, then you’re going to have to throw an event called Wardstock. This will be the third year that The Valley Community Center will be hosting the music-heavy river celebration. With renowned local bands such as Classic Jam (formerly known as The Trolls) and Leon & The Forklifts, headlining the festivities, Wardstock will once again deliver the goods for those who love to hear the sounds of live music along the Buffalo River.

“Wardstock is one of those special nights that encourages folks to share old neighborhood memories in a fun, family friendly setting, with good music and even better people,” said VCA Executive Director Margaret “Peg” Overdorf. “And Buffalo River Fest Park really provides the perfect backdrop for this evening of all around excitement on the waterfront. The event is open to everyone, both young and old.”

Saturday, August 2nd at the Buffalo River Fest Park, located at 249 Ohio Street, Buffalo, NY from 3pm-11pm.

There will be kids activities, food and refreshments (no coolers allowed). Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket.

In addition, the event will feature kid’s activities such as Putt Putt and Explore & More’s Imagination Playground.  Plenty of food and refreshments will be available as well.

*Parking is free and is available at the Buffalo Creek Casino (sponsor) parking ramp and surrounding side streets.  The park, due to Ohio Street construction, will be accessible through Moore Street, Chicago Street, and Michigan Avenue.
