If the weather cooperates, this evening you will be able to get your first taste of fireworks in July.
Every year people gather at the Frank Lloyd Wright Fontana “Rowing” Boathouse near the foot of Porter Avenue to enjoy some of the best visuals that this city has to offer. Guests attend the event in order to get a glimpse across the river, where the Canada Day Friendship Festival Fireworks are easily visible.
The Light Up The Wright event started off with a small gathering its first year, and then added more features to draw the crowds in consecutive years. Attendees can purchase hot dogs, burgers, snacks and beverages. Bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket and enjoy the visuals at one of the city’s newest and most charming architectural attractions. The fireworks display typically starts at 10pm.
*No outside food and beverages are allowed. This is a family friendly event but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Parking lot opens at 7pm. $5 parking. Or ride your bike via the Porter Avenue bike lanes.
