What do you get when you take professional dancers, a flotilla of boats, and a performance that takes place on the Buffalo River? ‘Grain Dances, Steel Floats’ 2014. After a very successful launch its first year, writer, producer, director David Butler and his team are at it again, thanks to significant funding from the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation. With an additional funding push, the theatrical, maritime tribute will ultimately feature six performances over the course of two weekends.
In order to move forward with a performance of this magnitude, the public is asked to help out in whatever funding amount they can muster up so that the organizers can cover their expenses and deliver the best performance possible. Take a look at the video plea above, which was featured on the crowdfunding site RocketHub. There you will see and hear exactly what goes into creating such a one of a kind, truly Buffalo-centric masterpiece.
