Starlight Studio and Art Gallery will host their 2nd Annual Grapes and Hops in the Gallery on Thursday, July 17th from 6-9PM.
The event, located at the art program of the Learning Disabilities Association of WNY (LDA of WNY) in downtown Buffalo, highlights the art of local beer, wine, food, music, and of course, the work of the Starlight Artists.
“Grapes and Hops in the Gallery is a wonderful time to explore Starlight Studio and the work of our resident artists. At Starlight, it’s all about art, so this event also showcases the creativity of local brewers, wine makers, chefs and musicians,” says Director of Community Relations Parrish Gibbons.
During the event, Starlight’s main gallery will feature the exhibition DILLYDALLY, Starlights spring show, featuring works of over 40 artists with learning disabilities. Up in the studio, Starlight will hold an artwork auction featuring 10 works by the Starlight Artists.
Proceeds for the event supports the continuation of Starlight Studio and Art Gallery, as well as other LDA of WNY programs like Community Employment, After School Respite and Educational Advocacy.
“This is our home, and we want to share this home with the community,” says Starlight Artist Andrew Calderon, “Starlight is a piece of me and an important piece of this community”.
Local beer and wine vendors for this year include Flying Bison Brewing Company, Community Beer Works, Pearl Street Grill and Brewery and the Buffalo Beer Goddesses (pouring their Saison B. Anthony, brewed in collaboration with Flying Bison), and Vizcarra Vineyards. Food will be provided by Merge, Fairy Cakes Cupcakery LLC, Globe Market and the Marriott.
The Root Cellar Band and Lady Lush and the Vinyl’s will play music during the event.
Tickets ($25) are available at the door and online: www.grapesandhops2.eventbrite.com
