The University Heights Tool Library is hosting a tool-raiser event on June 14, from 10am to 4pm. On that day, people are asked to donate their unwanted tools to the grassroots DIY library so that the community will have access to additional resources this summer.
“Sometimes all you need to make a positive change in your community is an idea in your head and a tool in your hand” said Aaron Krolikowski, a Tool Library volunteer.
By partnering with the organization Keep Western NY Beautiful, the Tool Library has been able to identify a number of groups and organizations in the area that are in need of specific items so that they may get to work on myriad projects. The tool library has become an instrumental resource for block clubs, tree plantings, neighborhood cleanups, and student groups. This is a win-win initiative for the community.
Now in its second year of operation, the Tool Library has proven that by providing the community with the proper, working tools that it needs to get the job done, there are plenty of hardworking volunteers who will see to it that our neighborhoods are kept clean, safe and welcoming.
