There is an effort underway to create an ongoing video blog and concert series that would highlight the industrial setting of Silo City. The brainchild of Kevin Cain (of The Vault), Silo Sessions is a fantastic way to feature the iconic silos by lending their majestic beauty and cavernous sound dynamics to acoustic performances by musicians from across Greater Buffalo and beyond. Silo Sessions is being filmed, recorded and aired online for all to see and hear.
“Silo Sessions is a weekly video blog and concert series that will be launched on June 14th. It will feature an incredible 8 second natural reverb of the Perot Grain Elevator, Marine A grain silo and The American Warehouse. This showcase will exhibit world class musicians from both local and national stage. Creating a place where local musicians will be featured alongside critically acclaimed performers is an integral step in the evolution of the arts and culture in Buffalo, N.Y.” – Kevin Cain (Kickstarter)
For close to a year, Silo Sessions has been underway. The team has already captured the performances of 20 different music acts. Now the initiative is in need of funding for better equipment and other expenses that are generated via production.
The website is set to go live, and the launch party takes place on June 14th, 2014. Stay tuned to Facebook for further details. If you’re a proponent of the local music scene, and its steady growth, consider donating to the Silo Sessions Kickstarter campaign, and reap the grassroots music benefits now and down the road.
