I couldn’t think of a better place to hold a spirited fundraiser than Resurgence Brewing on Niagara Street. Buffalo finally has a legit beer garden where a celebration can be held “picnic style” outdoors in the sunshine. And if it rains, the interior of the brewery is just as good – there are even life-size Jenga blocks to play with.
I’m happy to say that one of the first organizations to jump on the Resurgence bandwagon is Grassroots Gardens. The non-profit that has turned almost 150 vacant lots into constructive community gardens will be hosting a fundraiser at Resurgence on Sunday June, 22, 2014. Not only will you be able to enjoy all of the offerings of the brewery, you will also be able to support one of the best grassroots causes around.
*Highlights include craft beer, live bluegrass music by the Rear View Ramblers, light snacks, a raffle with prizes donated by Buffalo Harbor Kayak, First Light Creamery, Buffalo Ski Club, Burchfield-Penney Art Center and more, and strawberry-themed gifts, because the event’s theme revolves around strawberry jam – and who doesn’t like some real honest to goodness strawberry jam?
