Chef’s Garage Pizza

If there’s one thing that you can say about Chef’s Restaurant, it’s that they are always up to something new. Whether they’re rolling out a new product, putting an addition on the building, unveiling a crazy new truck, or launching a clever marketing campaign, Chef’s manages to always stay current in the very competitive world of Italian food in Buffalo.

Recently, Chef’s introduced an entirely new product to its already successful formula – Chef’s Garage Pizza. Considering its location in Downtown Buffalo, and its penchant for all-things-Italian, it was probably a wise move to head in the pizza direction. There is a new drive-thru window, which makes picking up the pies incredibly easy. Or you can pick up your order inside the restaurant.

As for the pizza, the Billittier family has put its mark on the each and every slice by incorporating their traditional homemade sauce and Chef’s dough right into the creation. Plus, if you’re familiar with Chef’s menu, then you will be able to see that many of the specialty pies reflect the most popular Italian dishes – Spaghetti Parm Pizza for example (Chef’s signature dish).

A number of the pizzas are named after a Buffalo personalities, keeping with the celebrity stardom traditions of the restaurant. There’s the Rocketship 7 (WKBW-TV personality Dave Thomas), and Robby’s Goo Morning Breakfast Pizza (created by Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls) for example.

To go along with the new creations, Chef’s has brought another mascot onboard to handle the marketing for the pizza end of the business. “Chooch” rides a 60’s hot rod and battles it out on the streets of Buffalo with Chef Paisano – the original Chef’s mascot.

Chef’s has built out a “back garage” in order to accommodate the new pizza ovens that were required to pull off this new feat. The special drive thru window can also be found at Chef’s – 291 Seneca St. at Chicago in downtown Buffalo.

As part of the inaugural pizza ceremonies, Chef’s is launching a scavenger hunt directing pizza fans to find Chef Paisano’s Golden Ticket (lead photo – Paisano checks in at Sabres headquarters in early spring). The winner will get set up with one year’s worth of Garage Pizza. See Twitter for all of the details.
