Visit Buffalo Niagara (VBN) is promoting a Social Media contest that is designed to get Buffalonians sharing powerful photos of the city, thus spreading the good news that continues to unfold. “A decade ago, we had to focus all our marketing efforts outside of Buffalo to get visitors interested in coming here,” said VBN Communications Manager Brian Hayden. “Now, we can hold a contest that includes locals because every time a local shares a photo of Buffalo, a good chunk of their audience is from out of town and may see it. A social media contest is a great way for Buffalonians to get involved and engaged in promoting their city by taking and sharing great photos with their out-of-town friends.”
Now all that’s left to do is to spread the word about the contest. That means that VBN is hoping that you not only dig up some of your favorite images of the city, but you also snap some new photos as you are out and about. “We’re encouraging Buffalonians and visitors alike to share images of the very best of Buffalo,” Brian added. “Which in turn helps promote the Queen City – VBN will be giving out prizes to weekly winners.”
Not only will prizes be given to the winners, but the images will be posted outside of the Convention Center on the jumbo marquee. “Every great photo of Buffalo shared on social media can help entice potential visitors to consider coming here,” mentioned VBN President and CEO Patrick Kaler. “We’re excited to receive so much support from local businesses for this initiative and can’t wait to see the Queen City at its finest this summer.”
The contest runs Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Hashtag the photos #Buffalove14 on Twitter and Instagram or post them to VBN’s Facebook wall for submission.
