Just Buffalo Writing Center Opens on Washington Street

Just Buffalo Literary Center (JBLC) is expanding its offerings by opening the Just Buffalo Writing Center (JBWC) at 468 Washington Street. The new writing center is a natural add-on for the organization that is touted as the premier center for the literary arts in the Buffalo/Niagara region. The writing center is aimed at targeting Buffalo’s young and emerging writers, so that they may enhance their writing skills and abilities in order to further their dreams and become leaders in the community. Among other efforts, the center offers “writing workshops, literary events, and one-on-one assistance with homework, and college readiness.”

If you have a child that appears to have a hankering for writing, but has not yet found a good fit to learn more about his or her passion, this could be the perfect boost that they have been looking for. Often times, young people don’t have the ability to identify the extent of their writing talents without the help of those practiced in the art, let alone find the necessary resources needed to hone those skills.

On Thursday, May 15th, 2014, from 4pm-6pm, the community is invited to attend the opening of the JBWC. On that day, visitors can learn more about the after-school and summer writing center geared towards teens ages 12-18. Aside from pop-up readings, the event will also include interactive writing games, live music, and cake.
