On Friday, June 13, 2014, you are invited to take part in a fun photo session at Canalside. Photographer, Patty Watson is organizing an aerial photo shoot that will capture the image of a buffalo (comprised of people) from high above. The photo shoot requires at least 500 people to form the body of the buffalo – the cost per person to join in on the fun is $20, with proceeds from the event benefitting Stand4Heroes (The Bob Woodruff Foundation) and WNY Heroes. The $20 donation also gets participants a T-shirt, a Chiavetta’s Barbeque lunch, live music by the local classic rock band Heard of Buffalo, and the opportunity to pick yourself out in a crowd once the photo is taken and rolled out to the public as part of a “This Is Home” television promo. Reprints of the image will be available at a later date. The entire shoot should take one hour from start to finish.
In the past, Patty has organized people to take the shape of a ribbon, the US flag, the “I Love NY” logo, a Christmas tree, an eagle (and various other patriotic images) and even a mass formation of participants performing headstands (in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record at Holiday Valley).
“We need at least 500 participants to create the form of a buffalo, but we will be able to accommodate thousands in our human formation celebrating the pride we have for our city,” said Watson, founder of Patty’s People Pictures. “We have a fun afternoon planned that you will not want to miss.”
