Although the inaugural PorchFest was a bit drizzly, the energy was palpable and the effort continues to move forward. Porchfest was designed to activate myriad wonderful porches in the city, by turning them into miniature concert venues for a day. Not only does this helot to bring the community together, it provides an unusual place for musicians to perform. By merely walking around the various neighborhoods on the West Side (map and schedule in hand), music lovers are able to catch multiple shows presented on a variety of porch styles.
If you have a band, or a porch, or you simply want to volunteer, the Elmwood Village Association (EVA) is getting off to an early start in order to ensure the success and the longevity of this unique event. Click here to learn more about offering up your porch, or getting a gig at a host’s house.
