The official spring kick-off event is underway this Saturday, and while the ice boom may have other plans, Boom Days’ organizers are staying true to the tradition by hosting the hometown favorite event.
“It’s our third year down here at Silo City, with a combination of art, music, food, and lots of big bangs at the end [fireworks],” said Scott O’Connor, co-organizer of the affair. “This is the only real spring-type launch festival that we have here in Buffalo. It makes for a great day. There are food trucks and this year we’re having a pig roast. Also new this year will be additional micro brews by Gene McCarthy’s. Per usual Southern Tier and Flying Bison will be on-hand, with live music by one of Buffalo’s favorite musicians – Allison Pippitone. There are six bands total. There are also historic pop-ups to check out, and hay rides for families… be sure to look out for Buffalo’s infamous cowboy. And of course the Edward Cotter fireboat will be onsite and open for tours.”
